Global Communities Participates in the Launch of Fresh Produce Consortium(FPC).

APRIL 19TH 2018…Global Communities under the Agribusiness Investment for Market Stimulation (AIMS) program,which is funded by the US Department of Agriculture,participated in an agribusiness stakeholders forum where Kenya Association of Fruits and Vegetables Exporters (KEFE) re-branded to Fresh Produce Consortium(FPC).Global Communities is working with FPC to enhance the competitiveness of fresh produce industry in Kenya through capacity building of the consortium’s member SMEs to access finance and new markets.The event was graced by Nairobi County Government Women Representative,the Hon. Esther Passaris.

Speaking during the event,Passaris said,”Food safety is an important aspect of achieving food security which is among the government’s Big 4 agenda.The role that FPC  will play to enhance standards of fresh produce will go along way to attract both local and international market for our farmers.I’ll do anything in my capacity to ensure the legislation of policies which will

support this course.”

AIMS  overall objective is to improve volume and value of trade in the agribusiness space in Kenya,Malawi and Tanzania.
